IDEA 9

People use nail-clippers to cut their nails, for hygiene purposes, in order to prevent them from growing too long and getting dirt stuck beneath them. However, in the process of nail-clipping, the clipped nails tend to fly all over the place, possibly littering and dirtying the area.

Possible solution: A nail-clipper with added functions? Or a gadget with nail-clipping and cleaning-up functions?

Alarm clocks have long served as a means to wake people up on time, getting them to school, work, appointments and events punctually. Some people are able to wake up on the dot immediately when their alarms go off, while others require a period of 'snooze' time before they finally wake up. Hence, people who belong to the latter group will tend to set their alarms earlier, creating time for them to 'snooze'. However, there are often instances where these people 'over-snooze', due to reasons such as over-fatigue, sickness, lack of discipline etc. This causes them to oversleep and become late, possibly disrupting their schedules.

Possible solution: An alarm clock that allows you to adjust and set the number of times you want to 'snooze'. After the set number of times, when the alarm goes off again, the 'snooze' function will be deactivated, causing the alarm clock to continue sounding non-stop, forcing the user to wake up?

IDEA 7

Nowadays, public toilets use sensor auto-flush systems instead of manual flush systems, because using manual flush systems may be unhygienic (everyone touching the flush button/lever, contact with germs), and also due to the fact that some people may accidentally forget to (or purposely choose not to) flush the toilet after use. The implementation of sensor auto-flush systems solve these problems.

However, using the sensor auto-flush systems has its own set of problems as well. Due to the system being damaged, or not being able to detect the presence of users properly sometimes, this could lead to the toilet flushing when still being used. This could lead to wastage of water (continuous unnecessary flushing) and a possible unhygienic inconvenience (imagine the toilet water mixed with the end results of your last meal, splashing up against your rear end while you are peacefully doing your business ><)

Possible solution: a micro-switch/motion sensor pad within the toilet seat that activates the flushing, only after the user has sat down and stood up from the seat?

OK, here is the deal. Its lunch hour and you only got maybe 1 hour to eat before your next lesson, you go to any of the canteen in school and you can see students queuing up in every stall, you get really frustrated..

Solution:
We can create an app whereby students can place their order from and collect there food when its ready..

So..Example,

Student A is going to have lunch later and doesn't want to queue so he goes to this application and search for the food available from all canteens in NP. He selects the food and is notified that he can collect the food in Xmins at the chosen canteen.

IDEA 2

Problem: Some people prefer using headphones over in-ear earpieces for listening to music, as they usually have improved sound quality, and they tend to enclose and cover the ears as well, allowing the sound waves to 'bounce' more, thus providing a more conducive music setting. However, prolonged periods of wearing headphones and the pressure produced from the sounds waves may cause discomfort and even pain to the ear area. Possible solution: Headphones that are comfortably shaped to fit the ears, covering them just right?
